EDINBURGH WAND SCHOOL OF MAGIC
Every wizard needs a wand, and finding the right one is essential to your magical journey. Discover the magic of Edinburgh at Gladstone’s Land, a surviving 17th-century high-tenement house in the Old Town, restored by the National Trust for Scotland. Originally built in 1550, this six-story building was redeveloped in 1617 by merchant Thomas Gledstanes. Its prominent position on the Royal Mile reflects the affluence of its past, offering a fascinating glimpse into Edinburgh’s history.
In this immersive workshop, history and enchantment come together. Guided by our expert Wand Master, you’ll select the wood for your wand—a choice that influences the power and nature of your spells. After choosing your wood and wand core, you’ll carve protective runes, sculpt the wand’s shape, and add a custom paint finish. Finally, launch your first spell with your newly crafted wand.
This magical DIY activity is perfect for both children and adults. As you craft your wand, enjoy soft drinks, homemade cakes, and magical teas in the atmospheric surroundings of Gladstone’s Land. The building’s rich history and magical ambiance make this a truly unforgettable experience.
Whether you’re a fan of the magical arts or curious about Edinburgh’s mystical side, this experience connects you with the city’s history and magic. Leave with not just a wand, but a unique keepsake of your time in this ancient city—a piece of magic that is uniquely yours.
It is recommended that you wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. You are welcome to wear a wizard hat to fully embrace the magical experience.
